Well last race ended up with only 3 runs. Transmission started slipping. Best time was still a 6.3. Took the car home and figured a rebuild on transmission. Dropped the pan and had a glogged filter. Metal for sure. 4 races left in the season so replaced filter and added type F fluid with a quart of Lucas No Slip. Seems to work fine now. I'll save the rebuild for over the winter.
4500 stall converter should be done this Tuesday and racing is next monday the following week so that's enough time to install it. Also I ditched the Mickey Thompson's DOT slicks and am now running M&H Racemaster 7.50x15 Slicks. Softer tire so better launch. Let's see if I can make it through the day.

Nice reading as always.
Where do you get your 38/38 weber? I'm looking for them here in Australia, it's like drug money for them. $580 aud

Try two of them, as in Twin Weber Downdraft $379/each including adapter - Pierce Manifolds

Yes. Two downdrafts.
![]() How about $259 from Carbs Unlimited right here in Auburn, Washington, USA. He has the best price for True Webers and not a knockoff.

Wow, that's a Genuine Weber, made in Spain. Now I'm wondering what the Redline wholesale price is ... it says quantity pricing discounts

This is my Powerglide. Started slipping again so it's apart. This guy knows what he's doing. Will be back together before next race. This should last me forever. Well that's what Jim seems to think.

I thought the powerglide was never going to have issues mate
well it must be your foot, nothing is safe under it! you prob just have to look at an Aussie made car for it to break down

Well this Powerglide was never rebuilt before I used it. It was the unknown. It came out of a previous drag car. It worked fine for more than a year. I paid $250 for the transmission just to get the Transbrake valve body. Well with parts and labor, I'm into it for a $1k. For $500 more TSR Transmissions said I could buy one of theirs but said that Jim has been building them for years and he can do just as good a job plus I get to learn how to take them a part and put them back together.

So transmission done and back in.
Powerglide seems a lot stronger when shifting so should be ready for tomorrow's race. New stall converter only stalling to 3400 so will be calling converter shop on Tuesday. Will be running my usual fuel mixture of half VP110 Race and half ethonal free 92 octane but have added 10% Nitromethane to the mix. I guess we will see. ![]() You can view topic.
