Seasons over so I need something to do.
Rebuild fresh'n up with new rings and bearings. Valves probably as well. Finished up a blowdown tube that was required for my nitrous per NHRA rules. The tech guy missed it when I raced the 1/4 mile in Kent this year. Will pick up another set of drag tires and wheels. I need a taller tire for the 1/4 mile. 23" are great for 1/8. Looking at a 25". Afraid a 26" will just not fit.

Ah between season time. What year of 240SX did your KA24DE engine come out of? Looks like it's using the stock oil pan
Are you still running the stock camshafts?

I believe a 1993 240sx Dave.
Crower Stage 2. No reason to have any other oil pan.

Dave,
That engine crossmember is history. That was the one I used for the z24 motor. I built a brand new one for the KA24 motor.

![]() Engine tore down and at the machine shop. This time I decide to change my machinist and go with someone new. I've been going to Jay for years but since I moved and this new shop is closer, I chose to go to Bill. Plus Bill runs a drag car at the track and everyone says he knows his s-h-i-t. And he does. First thing he said when I brought my block and parts in was that I need new pistons. ??? He said they have to much side wear on them. I thought they looked ok but I could see what he was talking about. That's a $600 cut in my rebuild project. Arias Pistons are not cheap. Head rebuilt, block cylinders honed out, new King Main and Rod bearings, Total Seal gapless rings, MLS head gasket, gasket set and new pistons will probably run me over $1500. I guess that's not bad compared to the initial investment of $600 for the motor and three seasons on it. Which came with Arias pistons, Eagle Rods and Crower Cams. That alone is well over $1500. My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy.

3k for stock rebuilds in Oz so you are getting a good deal
Also ask him if Mistubishi Astron 91.1mm bores are too big? 2.1mm extra gives 2503cc(only 1.05 mm both sides of bore) You should be able to get those flatties very cheap now. You can view topic.
