3-1/2 inch front wheels are skinny! What size tires is it running? I head drag cars benefit from tall and skinny, dunno if that's true

Is the spool any faster than the old Lincoln locker?

crazy evolution this car has had over the years!!! congrats on your victories

Here the fastest NA is an S2000 with 2.7L 106mm stroked 90mm bore K series yet with prices
of RB/SR20VE going nuts, cheaper to build a 2.7L KA that unlike Honda/SR needs no sleeves.

Youve built a winning beast!

Thanks. This has been an ongoing build.
24" tall front runners on a 15" wheel. M&H had the only tire that would fit.
The mini spool is the rich man's locker. Not interested in welding anymore differential. 🙂

Are the rears also 15" or bigger and you have a quarter not full cage? dont recall sorry.
The mini spool is a good investment compared to what worn out datsun parts are fetching
What was the vw running 2.xxL and boost?

The rears are 15", 26" tires which again, M&H had the only tire that would fit that I wanted.
That VW was beast. No boost, no Nitrous, nothing but motor. I think it's a 1400 VW motor with 14 to 1 compression running VP C17.
Anyways, I just need to dial my car more closer to the 11.50 mark. 👍

Is it getting harder to get good rubber for 15 inches? I thought there were heaps still for racing.
That VW is likely a stroked big barrel bubble type EMPI which based on a type 1 1300-1500 block
which uses 86mm stroker crank and 94mm bores/barrel kit so 2.4L usually 200-240hp pulling 1600lbs.
11.5 is really moving!

D,
I have a 6 point cage which allows me to run up to a 9.91.
9.90 and faster would require a 8 point. So I'm pretty safe and pretty sure I won't go that fast. 🙂
Racing season starts April 1st. 👍

Import Face Off in Kent Washington yesterday. Had a fun day. With light rains and the track restriction times, they had to end the race before it finished. Shared the Purse Winings with 2 other racers.
I dialed in the 11.50 Index class and ran a 11.67.
I know the car will run faster with tunning and more juice but the car has found its happy place. 🙂

Manage to take another 2nd Place in the 11.50 Index at IFO in Woodburn Oregon last month. No trophy but the winnings were enough to pay for my weekend trip down there from Seattle. In the morning that day I found out that I had a dead battery and needed a jump for first round of qualifying. A friend in the pits had a spare so installed it and continued the race. The battery is about 5 years old so time for a replacement.
Decided to go Lithium.
Noco makes a 700 amp 12 volt battery that has good reviews. 5 pounds compared to the 36 pound (42 including metal frame to hold battery in box) lead acid battery.
I bought two (17 pounds 2x batterys plus metal frame in bottom of battery box). One to run the car and one to power the bottle warmer on my nitrous. In the end the wiring ended up being a Frankenstein but it does have ryme and reason. I needed a battery isolator to charge the nitrous battery and also installed a battery kill switch between the two just in case the main battery died. That way I could still start the car jumping it from the nitrous battery. It works. Dropped roughly 20 pounds off the car.

The radio. My buddy gave it to me. He thought I may have a use for it.
Needed new tires as well. 🙂
