Well it wasn't raining when I got home with box last night so put it in.

filled up with castrol vmx 80 and proceeded to re install exhaust manifold understudied exhaust starter and alternator. All done but lost my fan belt done where. Only have a shorter a series spare so will use that but means having to testily my home made alt top bracket for more adjustment hahaha

So all that's left is that and fit cage currently. Then test drive tonight if rain holds off to let Me re drill and fit mount.

Hope this is end of clutch g box dramas for a while. Takes so long with no garage and waiting on weather.

ok all i have to do now is fit my roll cage (which i found out means i have to take back seat top out and trim down the bars slightly to make the hoop hug the b pillar more - site too far forward on test fit.

needs to bolt down here not to parcel shelf area.

(bad pics)

also have to wire up my reverse lights but

THE CAR DRIVES!!!!! and hard too!

yes against everyones advice almost i couldnt afford 4 lt of vmx 80 and a new clutch so used a 4 puck brass button plate i had from piggy. it has a bit of slip due to the softer pressure plate i had .

car idles a bit higher too? will reset that too. no air leaks i could find.

also will rewire tacho to get working.... i like having a tacho.

Ok idle fixed, was no vacuum leak was the throttle body idle screw that needed adjust ment. Idles ok now even with all electrics on yay!

Drives well too.

Reverse lights hooked up. So much easier to hook up 71b reverse sitch than the 63a one that hits tunnel just.

The 71b sitch is on the divers side not passengers side and at the front of tunnel not rear extension housing.

Just to fit cage now. Have to position hoop so with helmet on there's enough clearnce to hoop from behind. Sort of makes rear seat useless. Lucky it's bolt in.

Noticed coolant down 100m on overflow. Will monitor for now think there's a weepy hose some where as I notice white staining on top of starter.

Not in the greatest position but the arms if mounted further outside towards the wheel Wells made the Angle of the couplings to the hoop on the wrong angle.

would have mounted but bolt dude gave me 4 x m12 bolts instead of m10 by mistake

Ideally would like legs that mount to parcel shelf but better than nothing so far.

also rad coming from datsun beginner, 3 core should just squeeze in from my measurements of tanks etc.

that should resolve track temp creep and summer loving.

not much else to do but try and drive it now a bit more.

still need change starter over. new alt might be good, just read up on r31 alt swap on ozdat... peice of cat urine!

what a bitsa car i got going now!

any one know anyone that can bend and weld me some new rear arms for the rollcage? needs to be cold bent apparently.

would rather them some in from top of parcel shelf. that way could re engineer with roll cage and be street legal with it and still drive kids in rear!

cheaper for engineer of only cage
