Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knows of a place here in Australia (preferably in Melbourne) that I can purchase a new radiator for my 120y. I have read here that a Gemini radiator fits with little modification. I would prefer not to go this way but will if 120y radiators are no longer available.

Thanks

got a standard 1200 in good condition if they are the same? you can have it if you pick it up

i feel the standard doesn't cut it though and gemini is a good upgrade
toyota paseo is even better but is extreme as it reaches from one chassis rail to the other in a 1200

i would think you could get a 120y one through repco or something but maybe not? who have you tried? new radiators seem to be excessively priced anyway you go

Thanks all for the quick replies. I tried bursons and maddat. Bursons could only get me a core. Unfortunaly the radiator is leaking from the tank. Maddat could supply me with one but I couldn't justify spending $1100 (yes that extra zero is meant to be there) for a radiator better suited for a rave car than a stock standard 120y. I use the 'y' as a daily driver so can't afford to have it off the road. 1200rallycar I am interested in your offer. Can anyone confirm that the 1200 radiators and 120y radiators are the same.

Thanks again

The B110 & B210 radiators are NOT the same. In fact the B110 radiator seems to be the smallest of the lo.
When it comes to a radiators capacity to cool I can only say that I came home from Central Victoria last Monday, a day that the media described as experiencing a "devastating heatwave". I drove all day from Maryborough to Yass & the only reason that the gauge showed an elevated temp was due to a faulty thermostat. [It had an elevated temp even in the rain several days later]

I fitted a new T/stat & all is well.
My car is a stock 1973 Datsun 1200 with Auto & a dead stock [but new] radiator. The larger radiator of the B210 should handle anything that a stock A12 can throw at it.

Edit.
Oops, a few spelling errors now corrected.

I got the old 120Y brackets brazed onto an A15 Vanette radiator, wouldn't of mattered though since the mounting holes didn't line up with the second set they have on the car. Still had to drill through the panel in a couple of spots but for a bigger radiator I agree with everyone it's always worth it. A15 from from Ausrad supplier was 350 I think

Thanks again to all that have replied. Will give Ausrad a call on Monday. Hopefully they will have a radiator in stock. If I have to go with the Gemini radiator what model would I look at and what modifictions do I need to get it to fit.
