I've actually bent my mirror back on that wall on one occasion a couple of years ago, about the closest you can get without it ending in tears.

They're bulldozing it to build a housing estate on it. It was only a few years ago you had to drive for ten minutes past farmland to get to the circuit, now there are houses being built at the end of the main straight.
It's a real shame that there are no plans to build a replacement either, apparently the owner wanted to replicate it somewhere further south of sydney, but the design doesn't meet present day safety standards.

Took the old girl up to Oran Park on sunday for the last ever competitive event to be held there. Was a glorious day, predicted thunderstorms made their way past to the north. On the track there was a record 125 entrants, all keen to have one last crack at a legendary circuit.
The Datto was going well, running in the 1.24's until a mystery left hand turn only miss-fire had me putting it on the trailer after 4 runs. Came third in class behind a mirage cup car and a honda civic, with less than a second covering us all. Here is a quick video of a lap of the circuit, not the quickest for the day but has a couple of exciting moments in it.... Youtube I'll miss the interesting features and elevation changes of this track, truly a sad loss for motorsport enthusiasts nationwide. You can view topic.
