the diff was staying with the car.the car has sold.

my mate has a set of r31 struts and brakes with adjustable strut tops for sale. he has advertised them in classifieds. they work well as i was using them in my car before i got this setup. they can be ford 5 stud or datsun 4 stud. he will set them up for you.

as for the gearbox use either series 5 or supra. make a new x member that bolts to the floor and chassis rail. nice and easy. if it was a series 4 box id sell you the x memeber i have at home.

how hard of a job is changing the 13b series 5 engine to a 12a timing cover? and i heard you can leave the top mount as it fits with the bonnet closed? is that true.. so whats involved in the conversion?

12a timing cover
custom top mount turbo
tailsharft
remove the air pump.

i had a rx7 series 1 with s4 engine and s5 gearbox. so im just transfer everything over. the engine mounts were on the front so i change them 2 the normal mounts on a 13b(change sump and that). then yer the maddat kit fitted perfect. just the gearbox mount in the kit and changed a bit ill get a few pics 2moro of it. and i dont no 2 much about changing the 12a timing cover and that. if u need pics let me no datto13b thats 1 thing i wish i had:)

series 4 and 5 gearbox brackets are different. series 4/5 box are pretty strong. a series 1 box wont last long if u drive it hard.

as for the 12a timing cover. get a rotor shop to do it because there is some seals you can damage in the changeover. the thing is you need to change ur sump then to an rx4 sump if you go `12a timing cover.

i think the mad dat kit is a good way to go. saves you buying a 12a timing cover, sump and getting someone to change the front cover over. then you have to make engine mounts and bracketts.

datto 13b i pm'd you my number. if you give me a call il give you the run down

if i was to fit another 13b to a 1200 id use the mad dat kit.
