My nismo multi-holed cam gear has adjustment from -11 to +11°, any more and I can just move up or down a tooth as a tooth on L-series equates to approx 13°, and as it is for competition playing around with valve timing can make a big difference, not something I would never adjust again, choose a different cam for a short track v long track, then you have to dial it in, simple.

L-series standard cam gears have 3 holes, each in a 3 or 4° step, this is to allow for chain stretch, would be hard to adjust if you only had one hole.
