1. your LSD is of the 'spin resistant' type [spring loaded clutch pack type] 2. It would benefit from a strip & inspection. These things do wear out over time & from your description it's probable that the clutch plates have worn down below minimum specs which in turn reduces the spring pressure & lowers the breakout torque figure. Offhand, I'd suggest that some money spent on a good freshen-up or overhaul will yeild a very welcome improvement in both diff & vehicle performance.

yeah the front doing a fair bit of leaning over aswell...
king springs ive found to be fairly soft for a lowered spring.. never really a problem for street and who knows if the front struts are doing anything at all with the old oil in there.. it needs to sit flatter through corners for sure, but the biggest problem is the rear wheel spinning. rc you say coupe leaves (softer?) but stiffer rear shocks? im sorta planning on going a stiffer front end, and new shocks in the rear. but i dont know if the rear sway bar will help or make the problem worse. do you guys know much about changing oil in the front struts? how to? and how much oil to use? also can you reccomend a good front spring? rear shocks are a must but what to use?

mid corner and exit speeds from the first post
just cant imagine that 120y king springs would be all that awesome with the extra weight 12a

id say heavier front springs and decent shocks, as a rear sway bar will only make it lift the rear wheels more
or just get a locker for the track coupe springs should be pretty much the same as ute ones but without the load leaf

new shocks in the rear is easy and cheap and if you havent done that your crazy
![]() i still stand by the best thing i ever did with my ute was to put the coupe leaf springs in, contrary to popular circuit upgrades, but remember the ute springs were designed to have 500kg stacked on to them in those utes of course the leaf change should be combined with new shocks, there is some good 4x4 shocks that fit coupes (from memory same as ute) and are quite stiff compared to the 1200 replacement ones as you would imagine

currently my ute rides on original standard 120y struts up front with lowered king springs and 120y anti sway bar
The rear has lowered leaves with who knows what dirty old shocks and home made caltrac style anti tramp rods and what feels almost as rigid and nimble as a go kart on the street, handles like a boat on the track... so i found out. i did my first hillclimb with my ute yesterday.. and althought the pace was good, corner and corner exit speed was terrible. its fitted with an lsd, but through corners it would spin the inside rear wheel everytime. i couldnt put any power down at all, except in the straighter sections. so the challenge is to get it to sit flat through corners so i can apply some power suggestions? obviously shocks are a start.. rear swaybar? heavier front spring? better oil in front struts? open to any advice thanks in advance You can view topic.
