clive im just wondering why you need a 2mm head gasket? and in my experience ive had nothing but trouble with copper head gaskets. i used o rings and hylomar spray to seal it. the biggest issue i had was coolant leaking from under it as well as oil. i had no issue with keeping 13:1 comp in it with the o rings, but there was always a white coolant stain on the block. this was on my 186 holden engine. have you looked up a cometic multi layered metal gasket. thats what we use on our boosted and race engines at work

No Clive I didn't fit it so I know nothing, Sidedraught might know cause the motor originally came from him.

Why do you want to use a copper one?
My mechanic friend told me you can order a custom thickness one from Payen. He once installed one on a over skimmed BMW engine of 3mm thick. No problems yet.

Clive as a matter of safty you can use any good metal to metal sealant, coper tack, yamaha bond, hylomar and so on. But there is nothing wrong with a coper gasket.

I have used copper head gaskets in my older cars and have used copper spray.
This stuff is hard to get and the last head gasket replacement I used Hylomar
Spray (I hope spelled that correctly) Its a blue tacky spray and has done the
job well.

Yes it seems to be some kind of silicone.

I have a copper head gasket on my motor, its only about 1mm thick though.
It seems to be sealed with some kind of white looking sealant. The motor has been thrashed long and hard, no problems.
