Were abouts in Melbourne are you and is your engineer
able to certify the mods for RTA approval.

I'm still searching for a reasonable engineer to certify my CA conversion. For what it's worth I just had my original tunnel split and widened slightly to allow for the S13 gearbox...original heater still fits fine.

Hey cadet1200... I am in south gippsland but also half live at my girls in the city.

My ute has the standard tunnel in it at the moment and i still have the option of keeping it and widening it. Have you got any pics for me to see your one so i can pass it on to my mate?
My car is at an engineers in epping at the moment and he has a guy to put me onto to get things moving and signed off. my ute is a while off being on the road but good to have people to go to.

Will try and take some pics for you (will send to your hotmail account)...unless your ever coming through
Frankston, in which case you can check it out yourself and take some measurements. Mine still at project stage to
so no carpet in at the moment.

I've got a bigger tunnel although not a Maddat one and I got away with just trimming the bottom of the original heater to fit around the tunnel and it still functions fully. It does look a little scrappy though.

A few pics would be great cause i done want to put a different tunnel in if possible but needs to be better than whats in it now as it is. I do head to funky town every so often and may come cheak out your project one day if i find a minute for myself.

Lachie... I was thinking that myself that there is a little room for trimming but il have to wait and see how it all pans out. Thanks tho

im using a stanza tunnel, my stock heater with the screws in the back to hold the rear plastic togeter fouls but the stock heater with the clips fits like factory. 5mm is all the difference in the screw vs clip depth.

hack up the stock one for clearance, wont see it unless you take the face off it.

Thanks for that info il be doing a little more home work on this b4 cutting the manual tunnel any more. The box is already in but there is a square cut from old hole to new and i think it looks crap so might cut and mould the tunnel in there to suit and fix with some more plates. so many options........ Understand why so many projects just get left to sit around... Can be hard at times lol.
