1600 and 1200 datsun,

are the engine bays betwenn these datsun 1200 and 1600 the same size? i have a mate who found a nice 1600 but has a 1200 ute full of rust but with a CA18det, can he swap his ca18det into the 1600 using the same crossmembers? or is the size larger?

needs a different x member as a minimum, gear box x member too and posibly tailshaft.
Lucky can get x members off mad dat if he has $$$
