sf forester were the safest 2nd hand car til 2 years ago- up to 2002 model. sg's arent too bad either, and that will cover you almost up to 2006ish then the sh is up til 2009(current shape).

id get a sg xs auto, great car, xt are too heavy on fuel for a daily id feel unless all highway kms. city driving they are heavy on fuel a bit.

was waiting for a hail damage joke....

Well looked yesterday and found that the poobarus are very pricey. There is nothing inthe yards below $25,000 and what is are very old and high kms.

But we did find a metallic silver VZ 2007 wagon. 40,000km dual fuel, for $21,000. Ex government car, with recorded service history.
Neat intiorer, no dents that i could see. Some very minor scraches that should polish out (like someone has used an old scourer on the corners)
towbar as well. Overall a reasonable and tidy car.

Looked on redbook, and its puts them at between 18-20k.
Looked around on other websites and everything between 18-20k has twice the kms on the clock. The one that did have 60km on it was at $22,000. So its about $2000 over priced, but thats dealers and its from Skippers Mitsibushi in Vic Park, and they have been good to me twice before in the past. (sisters and Mums car)

Going to ring my bank lady today and get the loan sorted out.
Anyone want to come and look at it with me and go for a thras on either today or Friday arvo?

yeah looked at a gov car website and they seem to sit at about the 18-20 mark too. I dont think its too crazy

I just found the car advertised on carsales

carsales car

They also offered for another $2000 they would include tinting, cargo barrier, stamp duty and their own "after sales" extended warrenty.

Considering tinti is about $300, the cargo barrier is about $300 and stamp duty is $577.00, that means their dodgy warrenty is about $800 dollars.
whih is not bad really

thanks for that boondy. My suspesions were right. The car is about $2,000 -3,000,overpriced, but the big winner with it is the low kms (40,000) and its on gas already which is a $4000 option for me to fit. Its also an 07 model, so its technically a halfway between the VZ and the VE. (VZ MY07 upgrade pack)

Maybe its not so bad after all. Need to take it for a test thrash.

Maybe make an offer of $20,000 and see what happens...

this is the redbook opinion

redbook opinion

but bing redbook, yo have to take it with a hug pich of salt. I just check my pootorl and they are about 8-12k undervaluing it.

it's worth a nudge Reuby, it's the wags/gas/towbar that's pushed the price, popular package...
flag the tint, Trent @ TKO will put some proper stuff on for you, extended warranty isn't worth the ink on the paper..

rodger that on the tint.

and the extended warrentys as i always thought were a bit average. thanks for the second opinion. My brother also told me not to bother.

Hmmm maybe a trip back down today is the go, go for a test thrash and then make a offer....
Anyone wanna come with me?
