Its actually the Pinto OHC block that can be taken to 2.5 litres.

If only one of the japanese companies got on the act and made a
83mm bore A series blocks and AY 3 valve heads!

heres the thread for the engine

I dont think its an OHC engine, on the right side of the front face that looks awfully like a camshaft bearing. Its probably a kent block.

EDIT: here is their page http://www.cosworthusa.com/store/pc/v ... dcategory=18&idproduct=28

Its quite clear its an OHC or DOHC block just by looking for pushrod provisions...none.
This is the Sierra style block based on the Pinto OHC.

The block is not OHC. Only cylinder heads can be OHC.

In the case of Cosworth they made a special OHC head for the block.

Keep in mind that Cosworth made a whole host of 1600cc & 2000cc "Pinto" based blocks and heads, mainly because they were so many racing cars and series using them.............never surprised to see another variant from them.

Cosworth also made the Vega twin-cam head. The head was nice, but the rest of the engine was not so great.

The Datsun a-series is a proven durable engine.

To be pedantic then the block is for an OHC head or DOHC head.
It cannot be used for pushrod heads period.

The A series engine is a good engine but heavy compared to
some of the modern and aftermarket 4 cyl all alloy engines.
Also A series will be rare in the near future unless we can
get them from South Africa.
