Started stripping engine bay today couple hours work. Found a bit more nastiness to, someone had tacked some sheet over a bit of rust in front lower Radiator support/rail. Thank god for parts car with schmick front end. Been using the good old citrus stripper it doesnt dry out as do automotive strippers and way less toxic. Also found it is blistering the acrylic as opposed to auto strippers that just send acrylic into a runny nightmare. Bought it at the local True Value for stripping paint off plastic. Oh and a little bit goes a long way to.

that stuff looks like it does a good job andy, so no runny mess at all? Could be good for me to use on my coupe?

Thanks guys. Nick your coupe was done in 2 pak mate so any stripper will just fry the paint up and basically flake off.

O.k update time. The citrus stripper is good on acrylic but wont hardly penetrate 2k. Most of the front of the ute and outer cab is paint stripped to bare metal. We decided to get going on cutting out the rust for new metal to go in as we will do all the work on front and cab and then do the quarters and rear. 95% of the rust and bad bits are in the drivers side. The passenger side is very good with just little holes in a couple of spots.

Got a little done today. Had to weld in some new nuts for the Sway bar bolts and drip tray hence why i stepped the cut out but was still fiddly to get to. Had to cut out a small section of rust in engine bay behind the Castor Rod mount so that made it easier to get to other side. The one closest to front of car was hardest had to get right down in the rail. Then welded up rust repairs with some new sheet. Progress is great.
