Cleaned out the ute today took it off the cradle and tipped it on some old tyres. Added an old tow strap to the chassis from the roof so me dogs dont tip it over etc.. Started to stitch in the floor pans and around a few other seams to add some strength to the whole thing again. As you can see there is a lot of cleaning up to do before any major paint work happens. Also added a pic of another members ute which is my inspiration and planned look for finished product.

Hi Mcdat. That Ute with the tubs is gone mate so cant check for you sorry. The white ute is its replacement.

good work Andy,

welds are coming along nicely just as you said nothing a grinder can't fix.
i think its an endless battle with rust repairs on datsuns haha
i've been looking for my next project and thinking i will get another ute

keep up the good work champ

Thanks Mik. Nothing a grinder and a bit of filler to smooth it out won't fix, Only where the repairs are visible of course. Floors well seam sealer and sound deadener will hide that.

Replaced passenger rail and floor today Also bought new passenger rear floor off Wayne and tacked it in. Finished off plating a piece in the Scuttle panel and threw a bit of kill rust jam over it all. Nearly done with rust work. About 5 more small patches and then on to replace tray and drivers side Hook rail thingy

Not much body work today. Just made rolling Cradle for the ute now I can roll it around in circles and rock it to sleep.
