That's it mate Didn't take what you said as offensive, all good. Not much today just started welding in the rest of the footwell and started cleaning up some of the other welding jobs so i can prime the whole front in and out.

i hear you andy- i think most of us have had vices of some kind in the past. But we got through them and found healthier outlets

i wasnt trying to be smare A$$ either- im envious of the skills your learning. go get that rust- and buy shares in BHP, so you get more of a return for all the steel your buying too

Yeah have pondered scrapping the whole thing but hey its still got a lot of good metal in it and its a place to learn some tricky welding which I'm enjoying. For years i blew many pays on Fruity Disco Biccys, Wacky Backy and Batman Juice. So buying a few bits of sheet and a 4kg roll of gasless wire so far plus some man hours is a far cry from those days and i will have something to show for it. Plus getting a good Ute shell or better one and transporting it here stripping it down will cost more than this is going to cost to finish and I'm nearly over the worst of it. Not having a go either there mate just putting it in perspective.

We didn't muck around well not for a beginner took a panel beater mates advice. Cheap ones can only go so low and low is a need for thin stuff as you can imagine. Got the lincoln 180c gas/gasless it welds thin stuff gasless and I'm convinced it would be even better on gas. It loves welding big stuff mate the thicker the better it seems.

Tacked in drivers floor today after a bit of a clean up with a flapper disc we took the rail and floor pan out of parts car as one piece. It was a bugger unpicking the spot welds on both cars just cause of huge spot welds in the section below steering box. Also took a plate out that we suspected was covering a nasty where kick panel goes and WOW a bogged up rust hole hence no dog leg. So off to the parts car i go again and ebay member has the 5 piece section to complete my missing pieces. Going to be a mig master when this things done.
