has anyone had any experience messing with these engines? ive thought about cam, carbs, valve springs, extractors and exhaust you know the usual stuff but is it worth supercharging them? if so whats the best charger? SC14? can they handle boost?

i have absolutely no idea when it comes to superchargers can an eaton M90 be used on a 4 cylinder? they are cheap as chips on US ebay.

apparently the heads on them arent to flash, but it you are going to oush some boost into it that wont matter as much

could always just get the full injection and turbo setup from a Z18et and throw it on. should all bolt on then you just have the basic turbo plumbing, fuel, air, water, oil etc. stock tune might work, but an aftermarket computer wouldnt be that hard to set up. or go straight gas like on stu's z18/20 turbo 120y

Mine is 89 pathie, Z24 also.My automatic choke was stuffed, so I asked wreckers about another carby. They advised me not to bother as all the carby's of similar age were gonna have similar problems. A new carby was around $800 trade price Be prepared, When I pulled the head off my Z24 after cylinder 4 stopped, turned out to be the piston. Hige gaps around the edge. Got a picture somewhere. I'll put it up if I can find it.

I had a z24 in my old 1200 sedan, it started of as a z18t but after it died i sourced a Z24 bottom end from the wreckers, threw my z18t head on and away i went. Ended up running 12.9 on street tyres and single spinner! but did break a piston after a while.
