I fit those cam walkers, believe me they are better than plaster, at least you can take them off to wash.

Im a member of the moon boot club.
I landed on my ankle getting off a truck and rolled it damaging ligaments.
Dr sent me for x-rays that showed nothing. 2 weeks later a CT scan showed an undislplaced fractured talus dome.
Ive been off work since 9th April.
There is only so many dvd one can watch.
Atleast the moon boot allows me to get around a bit now.
As yet I dont need a reco ankle. "Knock on wood"
Below is my ankle at present 4 weeks later.

#OOPS#, when I left the hospital they gave me panadol! That did pretty much nothing. I guess its cos I didn't have an operation they could give me the good drugs.......
Good luck with the moon boot though, those things are a right pain in the ass.
Bugger limping everywhere, I got sick of that pretty quick I opted for hopping :)

When I was in high school I dislocated my ankle 90 degrees while skateboarding. Man that was a b1tch. Was 4 hours before they relocated it because I lived in a smallish town and the Doctor guy was on call so I had to wait for him to come in, then he looked at and went oh yeah better xray that (duh) so then we had to wait for the x ray man to come in and x ray it to confirm if it was dislocated or broken.
Then I got to spend three days with my foot in the air on pain killers before I could go home. Basically I ripped, snapped and tore pretty much every tendon and ligament in my ankle and because it wasn’t broken they couldn’t cast it so I had this moulded back slab thing that my leg was strapped too and I basically had to go home and sit with my foot in the air for a month, then it was 6 weeks of the moon boot and daily stretches and exercises before I could walk normally again without it hurting.
That was 8 years ago and it still gets sore and stiff on occasion. Also as a result my ankle joint is sloppier than a hookers box so Its super easy to roll my ankle (so no more skateboarding or indoor soccer)
To top all that off. About 3 months later when my ankle was finally strong enough to skateboard again I rolled my other ankle and tore one of the ligaments so bad It torn a chip of bone off……..
