is the gearbox up high enough? what box are you running? did you get the tunnel to suit that box? as they make a long and short tunnel. so if you have the short tunnel and long box the box will hit the floor where the shifter is before its anywhere near the right spot
but yeah i'd be saying it probably needs to lean forward a bit more

im using a ca box, the ca g/box tunnel and the ca g/box mount mounted to the maddat g/box crossmember as described by madat. if you lean the engine forward to give, say 10 mm clearence with the firewall the tailshaft will be running through the cab (probably not the best idea for legal reasons lol)

I see your point, But using the standard tunnel has been done before by quite a few members. The other thing to be wary of is engineers. I didn't approach my build as a 'tight ass', but my engineer really didn't want me to cut the tunnel out. Yes, I know that has been done a thousand times too, and there are countless cars out there with it done that are engineered - But he's the one signing off on it. So, Who am I to argue? By the sound of it, it's probably more to do with the angle of the motor and gearbox placement. If it is a maddat X-member give them a call, they've always been helpful with me.

Exactly what Blob said , i honestly am not a big fan of cutting out the tunnel out and welding in a bigger one(no offence to anyone), it was hard enough cuting out my rad support to fit my intercooler . and i am not being a tight arse by doing it , you dont even now the reasons i am keeping the standard tunnel or what gearbox i am running. Everyone has different ways of doing things and thats why every build is unique
Hey Blob do you happen to have details of the engineer your going through?

dont buy the brake booster kit it doesnt fit i still think the sr will fit on the ca x member ;)for the guys thinking of the sr kit and yer the ca x member sits 10mm to the right maddat told me this was for bigger turbos but i would rather everything be straight

Roflmao! thats funny as mate, so your telling me that because i choose to keep the original tunnel with no mods whatsoever that i am a tightass? lol, you just got sucked in by maddats infamous ca18det fitting kit which needs a bigger tunnel for removal of gearbox without removing the motor.... i personally find it easier to remove the gearbox attached to the motor for better alignment of the clutch etc... oh and it easier lol... and also your telling me that your bigger tunnels are better? lets see, a new tunnel, remove old tunnel, bird #OOPS# weld in a new tunnel, unless your a boilermaker/welder by trade an engineer wont sign that off... and you have possibly removed alot of the structual strength of the car... THE OLD SAYING "KISS!" its not rocket science

made all mounts myself(fits spoton)
made gearbox mount myself (fits spoton) ca box in manual tunnel used but belted out with hammer fits but would not pass enginerrs, to tight around box but fits sounds like maddat kit needs custom fitting?? ca in race car fits spoton just needs more room to pass i say build it your self, only u to blame if dont fit!!
