I took your advice Gav, Pedders have what we are looking for.

Front part #3029, $72 each. and they even had them in stock.
The fronts will need the rubber parts in the ends pressed out and swaped over to fit a 1000.

I didn't bother geting them to do this for me, as I still have to make new pins. (Mine are very bent). And I don't see me finishing my 1000 for a year or two. Plenty of time to get it sorted.
I think "Bert" has sugested pedders to press in new pins also.
Thanks for the info guys, It is members like you who make this site a pleasure to use.

There is also a listing for rear shocks and outer tie rod ends on the pedders website. Pedders catalogue

I asked for prices, rear shocks $91 each and outer rod ends $31 each.

Thank you Bert,

Yeah I know ... "Super Cheap"

This is my first datsun so im finding out the hard way that some parts are harder to source, super cheap had a listing for the gabriels so I ordered them.
To their credit The guy that I dealt with from the labrador super cheap store on the gold coast was extremely helpfull.
He has offered a refund on the gabriels for me, He also found out a little more about the oem shocks.

He said the fronts were made by KYB in japan from 1966 to 1969 only and are no longer avaliable through KYB. He also looked for substitutes in both gabriel and monroe but says they don't do any either.
I appreciate the effort.

On a more succesfull note,I got my rear shocks today and I can confirm that the BOGE are the same as the Nissan ones that were on my 1000 ute.
So I guess that has one end sorted out.

Below is what is stamped into the side of the BOGE rear shock absorbers.

Just go to Pedders, BUT? There is a big difference between a Pedders store and a Pedders store who knows a little about susspension and gives a $hit about your little datto.

For my coupe I got comfort gas shocks for the rear and oils, but much bigger for the front. They even pressed the pins in and out of the front shocks.

I would take your car down and ask for shocks to fit. I'm with ya Bert, what are doing in Supercheap?

Super Cheap!! What are you thinking? They would'nt have a clue unless it's a ford or holden.
What you need is Early 4 cylinder Torana/Viva fronts and swap the lower mounting brackets over, and for the rear i normally use Holden Rodeo rear's,there fairly firm but the right length.

Google Translate... Google knows russian.
Thanks for posing up another option with some pics, super cheap are going to have a look for a substitute to the nissan fronts for me, so knowing that torana ones fit with some mods is a good bit of info if they can't match them for me.

I wonder how many times Gabriel has paid for postage to send those shocks around the world now. I ordered them in too from interstate only to find they were completely different.
From your part number it seems like you could get those front shocks- but you have to learn to speak Russian first:

Its funny how similar the upper a arms look there. Same link, same shims, same bushes...
