Cool! I have several A-Series blocks to weigh the back down so you can maintain some sort of traction!

By the way, I went and saw Sean's race car today, that things an absolute beast. He's keen to catch up for some drinks.

Sorry, I have made a mistake and got things arse about. 4agze is what I was thinking. The rta rules in NSW say that you need to use the weight of the sedan version of the car in question. From memory the 4agze just missed out.

But 4age can be done for sure. Same as I said before though, get one from a sprinter so the manifold points in the right direction, thermostat housings are correct and possibly dizzy is in a different spot.

If its legal down there, put a 4agze in it. It would be insane. The extra weight of the engine wont matter when the supercharger is whining off its head.

Whats needs to be done is the title, so it needs to be in a toyota not a datsun :)

The T50 site in with a little massaging of the manual K tunnel.
However this engine is no lighter than a ca18de with its deeper
cast iron skirting its actually 4-6kg heavier on the scales as
measured in the Toymods forums.

Gav I thought youd be right with the deluxe coupe weight multiplication?
675kg x 3 = 2025 for NA and x 2.5 = 1687.5cc for turbo

Matt,
A ute 1000 will be 615kg x 3 = 1845cc so right for ca18
otherwise 1537cc boosted.

However if you weigh your car before the engineering and get a slip from
2 weigh bridges with a heater in it, full of fuel and heavier seats.
The ute should weight about 650kg so you have a better choice down the road.

Id suggest what Gav has done and go Suzuki g13 with the sohc 16v head instead
or straight to the 1.6 g16b from the vitara or baleno. Always stick to the sohc
head which has bigger inlet valves and ports from factory also more meat in
the casting around the ports. You wont need it though. The soch 16v head has
solid adjustable tappets and narrower lower head, better for room.

Theres a rallye Baleno with a g16b with prepped rods making NA 190hp with no
port work just good billet camshaft, headers and extrude honed manifold.

Suzuki G engine weights
g13bb 16v sohc = 74kg
g13b 16v dohc = 82kg
g16b 16v sohc = 92kg

4age = 134kg

Suzuki box choices
W series toyota with adapter called RingR from the states

Modified mazda 323 or 929 rwd 5 speed has close ratios from factory
input shaft is the same length just need bell modded with plate.

Suzuki vitara box modified to run without transfer case or
use suzuki APV rear extension housing on it and bellhousing.
All sep removable bellhousings.

Suzuki sierra box straight up as Gavs done or adapter plate from NZ
for the g16b and only 200nz delivered with all bolts and bits.

I think it would work well. I wanted to get one out of a sprinter, already setup for rear wheel drive. You would be looking at a tunnel mod minimumn. Do it.
