My dad did that with all his cars (the roll-over with mattress).

Easy way for my 1000 in PNG was a sand blast and air-less spray system spraying high build primer which laid a 0.25mm thickness in one sweep, the fan of the spray was about a foot and a half wide so it was very quick to do, the paint mix was richer with thinners to increase flash-off and reduce the re-coat window. I built it up with a few coats of epoxy paint and then coated with the stone guard stuff from memory.

I think the goal is to build a decent thickness. Sounds like you've got it planned out.

Could you make your own rotisserie?

Thanks for the confidence boost old_school. I think that may be the the go for the front and possibly do the rear off some big car stands on my back.
Hammer tone was the type of paint i was trying to think of(the paint shop told me) 2 pack.
Was this done just in a garage and did it turn out like you wanted? Also did you presure wash it before etch?

Bailz i wished i had a rotisserie but so would alot of people doing cars up lol? Eating all the #OOPS# that falls on me while preping aint going to be nice but i hope to do this once and right.

Done mine myself.

Lifted front of car with the engine crane, without engine fitted.

Scrapped all crap off, wire wheel in grinder to clean up, cleaned with prepsol, light coat of etch and then top coat of hammer tone grey.

Weekends work and $50.

I'm almost up to painting the underside of my project.

K&H have a product called kahguard, it is available in black or white and used with a shutz gun which is actually very much like a spray gun but able to spread the thicker body deadener material all in one go.

I'd advise against using deadener and painting over it. Only due to the fact your paint will eventually be stripped off from road use.

As for cleaning the underside I'm not yet an expert.... But every car can be different!

I for one would go see a autobarn store and ask about kahguard in there paint department

You make it sound so easy lol. Well i went to a auto-paint shop today and asked about the sound deadener stuff and the bloke said to avoid it if possible cause once its on you cant get it off or sprey over. Cant remeber but he talked me out of it for some reason. Oh thats right it stains and is a little porous. So with 2 pac you can ust hit with presure washer and its clean again.
What you said about the hand held sand blaster tho :) interested in that! Where can i get my hands on one of them and do you have to buy the beeds to go in the gun?
