1200s seats are centered on the rail.

I would use a flat steel plate between the rail and the seat. Instead of between the rail and the floor.

Yep, exactly what DD has pictured is what I was thinking!

I'll get a picture up today of the rails without the seat on it. Looking at ddgonzals picture, one bridge across the back bolts will work but the bridge up the front needs to be situated forward, beyond the rails themselves so that second bridge (in the drawing) will not be forward enough to meet the front bolt holes of the actual seats themselves.

You can either use little extensions (which is what I did) or extend the rails and then put the second bridge across them.

Shouldnt be a problem for these rails Chris, as hey came to fit the seats. So theyre long enough and I can use the bridge welded exactly where they bolted in to offset them :)
Yup Dean and DD thats the go. I was so focused on doing it one way, that I couldnt see the other. Cheers!

How are they for height Chris? Given im about 6ft, they still seem pretty low on the xmember/transtunnel, do you think it will be necessary to raise them a little? One thing I noticed with the Cobras is theres so much padding where yr bum goes, that you end up a fair bit lower after a minute or so after you first get in them.

Yeah true, I reckon you've got it figured. Anyway I managed to get a shot, I have an issue with one of the bolts not properly lining up and it's very tricky to get right but it all sits nicely.

Seeing as you mentioned it, I got a huge cramp up the inside of one leg on the last cruise one of those bastards that just won't leave you be. I'm convinced it was to do with posture and I'm interested to see how they suit if they're higher off the floor.

Adjuster was on the other side because the tabs were simply welded on the wrong sides, I'll fix that when I do them again.

So they need to sit a bit higher you think?
You could redo the tabs with either a nut spacer or possibly even some small c-section bridge?

If you could get something like 20-30mm c-section sitting on some longer rails, then you could move the seats more central to the wheel, sit them higher, and still get the bolts in.

The height I had them was way too high however, my knees sat on the dash and had to breath in to get under the wheel :(

Too high? Okay I agree with the getting into the car part, the high-set sides make you have to step over a little and you kinda have to fall into (otherwise you have to hang onto the steering wheel which isn't a good habit) it but yeah I found they were comfortable where they were, but I'm not going to keep them as they are if I keep getting cramps.

I'm not tall or anything so I guess your simply too tall?!

I found the seats to be lower than the stock ones if not the same. What seats do you have?

The same seats they were just too high using the mini brackets onto the angle iron.
You shoulda seen the height of the guy I bought them off! That was the whole reason he was selling them the guy was like 6ft4 and a mini fanatic :)

Maybe Its not the height of the front causing the cramps but as you mentioned earlier the back mounts might need to be spaced up to level them out.

Ok So the rails have been made up and ready to put in, though now Ive realised I need an additional 20 or so mm of clearance for the seat frame to clear the crossmember!
I had some shims made just in case this happened, 10 and 12mm, but now it looks like Ill be needing both sets.

I initially put them on the top and bottom but now im thinking the thinner, lower part of the rail needs more contact with the mounts for strength, but putting both shims between the top rail or the seats 22mm of shim seems a bit high for an 8mm dia bolt.
hers a pic not to scale...the real thing looks dodgier

n...I know its a bit of a 6 of one half a doz in the other thing but which option would you guys choose?
