Im am idiot i know, dont seem to get the question, is it about the tire make or tire size?

If about the make... Go with what you need, like and want, (then you wont be disipointed)

If about The size... I would say "Go totaly benanas" say
18" front 20" on the rear and put that baby on the floor

But dont lissen to me (no one does anyway) what do you like (can afford) and go with that.
cheers

I have used a semi-racing tire all winter, it does great in the rain. Don't be fooled by the rating, check out the reviews. Federal tires especially...

then it looks like I'll stick with the 185's then, I think there more available to choose from as well. I found some federal tires from Les Schwab in 185/60's & maybe I'll poke around some more.

The sumitomo is a "summer" rated tire which means its not rated for snow or winter freezing weather, I'd rather have an all season tire - know of any other 185/60 's available?

Yes. 185 is generally the safe with limit for the front depending on wheel offset of course. With stock wheels go for 185.

On the rear you can go 205 width -- but you will need wider wheel and a very specific offset, or use spacers.

Sumitomo used to make very good tires. Dunno if they have changed since Bridgestone bought them. Falken tires with perf tread can be very sticky.
