Yup.

The only person who should be worried about corrosion is me.....at home a Datsun alloy manifold will get eaten away by the volcanic ash in a matter of months. Disappear into nothing.

Flanges have been collected.

Still waiting on the Alloy ones - sorting that out now.

The flanges line up really well, some parts of the oval port intake flange could have been thicker I have amended the Alloy inlet drawings so they have extra. It's no big deal just have to be a bit careful when welding. I guess I was a little too generous with the gaps between intake and exhaust flanges.

Hoping to have alloy ones by this week.

Hey I can see my flange from here! Lol they look great, cant wait.

Before said 5183 is the ideal filler rod for welding 5083.

Honestly, just go with 5083 - its what the laser cutter obviously has used before and are familiar working with it and how it cuts etc. It welds great too.

Its not like your alloy inlet is some super duper scientific instrument that's made light and thin and highly stressed under use - its a slab of plate with pipes welded to it. 5083 is more than sufficient for our inlets.

They look great. The workmanship is fantastic!

Is there any distortion in them (are they bowed after cutting)?

This is good when it comes to welding the manifold as a straight one will buckle out so using a bowed one to start with will straighten out after welding.

this makes the Datsun Terminal Sickness worse !!

Thanks Nick.

Mark, some bending, fairly insignificant to the point that welding against it will probably pull it back outta line again in the other direction. Just bolt it all down on an old head and weld away. Machine after if you're concerned.

The SS ones are more curved than the MS ones and the finish is also better on the SS, it looks like they were cut slower. This would explain the 'more' bending than the MS ones.

I'll get some more pictures up tomorrow. Alloys will be booked in tomorrow first thing.

The stock thick manifold washers will have to be used to hold these flat (the ones that spread the clamping pressure on both intake and exhaust manifold) so be sure to keep those handy. I'll try and get some more pictures up tomorrow.

The stainless ones would be the most bent due to stainless being able to absorb so much heat yet not easily dissipate it.

Who ever got stainless flanges, prepare to get them milled after welding as having a 5mm warp in them once done with welding would be expected.

Oh yeah...so whens the laser cut turbo flanges coming Chris?! Lol

Cant make a turbo manifold without one.
