For Sale: Datsun 1200 Sedan

Hey guys, well the time has finally come to sell my daily driver. I've had the car for something around 6 years, and in that time the car has performed faultlessly!!
The car is extremely original, with only minor mods. I have updated the front suspension to shortened stanza struts, my custom camber plates (to give negative camber after doing conversion), and 2" lowering (short springs up front and blocks in rear). I also converted it to the dual reservoir master cylinder.




The paint is not the original paint, it was repainted before l bought it, and l'm guessing would be well over 10 years ago by now (Hides nothing so its easy to see what’s good and what isn’t).

Generally the car looks pretty good, is very standard, runs extremely well, starts first time and always keeps going!

Ok, the bad side......It does have rust. I've been noticing for the last 12 months, more spots appearing, with the worst being the RH rear wheel arch under the fuel filler. The sills are starting to bubble, and a few other minor spots. It needs to be repaired ASAP. I do not have time for this, and is 99% the reason for the sale. Its too good a car to waste, and l just don't have time (I have been planning a weekend with the boys to fix it all for the past 6 months, but just never happened!)
Also it got caught up in the hail storm, so the bonnet and roof have some minor dints. Luckily the tough datsun steel didn't get hurt as much as the later model cars, so its an easy fix.




It will need new front shock inserts (they are stuffed - bought them like this under the impression they were ok). When l did the struts, l replaced any parts in the front end that needed it (tie rods, ball joints etc) so all that should be ok.




Front tyres are pretty well brand new, and rears have tonnes of tread (and all 4 are super sticky too).

I have a custom made mp3 holder for the glovebox (mp3 not installed currently), that l can also include in the sale (Car has kenwoods 6x9's in the back).


I have a fair few parts including 1200 ute front doors, door handles, brakes lines, standard struts etc etc if they are of any interest in the sale.




I'm looking for $1800 negotiable, without RWC.

are you kidding? its a 1200!

just carry a 10,12,13,14,17 ring spanner, a flat and a phillips screw driver
and cable ties and duct tape. you wont need them, but just incase

you could drive to the gold coast via perth!

Yeah im with ANGE i have done many trips from and to melbourne in the trusty A series a little tool kit with the mentioned tools By ANGE and all will be well fill it up check vitals and happy travels. Expect a night or 2 in a motel and come back up through Shepparton, West Wyalong, Parkes, Forbes Dubbo, Gunnedah, Tamworth, Armidale, Guyra, Glen Innes Turn off at Glen Innes go through Tweed to Gold Coast. Great Buy this.

Seriously thinking about buying this. Is there any chassis rust?

Yep, she's pretty reliable. The only negative to a long drive like that would be the front shocks....they aren't that awesome. Though if you dont hit any massive holes, then it drives reasonable.

As for chassis rust, to be honest, l haven't even looked. From memory, it was all pretty good, but l'll have a quick look to see if l can spot anything. If there was, l'd say it'd be easily repairable, as it would only be recent (not long term destruction).

I can also take any more pics of specifics if interested etc (I really rather you know what you are buying).
