get an a14 or a15 for bolt in power, but have you thought about being 17, in act with a modded car? rolling on 17's. asking for trouble im betting.

might be easier with a webber 32/36 carby, extractorrs and a cam if the stock mootrs in ok condition.

any further and would probably need engenieering in act/nsw now days. just like vic,

also i think you might find with those seats, the fibreglass backs are thicker than the stock so called seats, so you will sit closer to the wheel and not be able to use the recline in them. its a hassle but utes are terrible for seat choices.

yeah ive thought about that. I cant find the thread but i know someone cut the back wall out of their cabin and moved it back about 5 inches. If anyone knows about it could you link me to the thread. How much would i have to spend to get an a14 with twin webbers. And is it easy to do an engine swap like this. (im pretty sure that an a14 in act doesnt need to be engineered but an a15 does) and if i cant do it myself how much would i be paying someone to do it for me. its just i havnt looked into doing something like this before. all comments appreciated,
Cheers Rohan

hey man i would just buy a standard A14 and bolt it in ,its pretty muich a bolt in convertion ,but you might have to weld a plate of the engin mount to space the mount forwards to line up with the cross member ,and as for the carbys it could cost you up to 2000 depending on what carbys you buy and if they need rebuilding and what brand will depend on how hard jets are to buy

solexs are pretty hard to get but for me i got a good set do they probably dont need rejetting (pretty close to what it should be) and tey are pretty good gasket wise so im just going to leave them alone till they iether leak or fail otherwise

ill look into the a14 conversion, but for now, i need to come up with a mechanism that allows the tailgate to lock after i remove the hooks. so some sort of internal locking system. I have looked into one that had latches from a hilux. but im still looking for other options at the moment.

update:
as i said before about the cabin extension. I found some pics for you, does anyone know how much it would cost for me to get a metal fabricator to do this as i dont have a welder to do it myself.
cheers Rohan.

there's a heap of different mechanisms to lock your tailgate. i was gonna use a hilux setup (which i still have) and shorten the cables, but i found some good simple locking mechanisms in a engineering store. i've heard of people using seatbelts hahaha

Yeah well as the space behind the seats in a 1200 is 'limited' i was thinking of putting a sub in here and then my seats would also have room to recline. so it would serve two purposes. as for the tail gate i havnt been giving it much attention lately but when it comes down to it i guess ill figure something out.
