how much are you planning on doing yourself?

if you already have the right tools and materials then it could probably be done for a couple of hunded $$$ plus the cost of a front cut/complete engine package

if not it could cost you many many thousands of dollars

I can't see you getting any change from 10k for A reliable setup. I am gunna be blunt and say go buy a Silvia or something else, if you can't use a search engine I can't see you getting an Sr into a 1200 with no money....

how reliable it is more depends on engine and engine component condition. not like doing it yourself will make it any less reliable, as long as you dont to a complete hack job of it

how many people rebuild there SRs before putting them in 1200s anyway?

lol i like the way you put it in the edit version bailz

I think what bailz ment was buy a Silvia to get a lot of donor parts from.

One thing I have learnt, if you work out a budgit on a car project get the total amount, multiple that by 2 or 3 and you have a idea of the cost.

If the car can stand and you realy want to do it, just start, work on it as you have money.

A lot of the times when a project gets expensive is when you are getting tired of waiting, then you start paying ppl to make parts.

so you have basic fabrication equiptment then? welder grinders drills and stuff like that? engine crane and such?

do you know how to go about an engine conversion? ever done anything like this before?

if you answered yes to all them then the labour part of the conversion should be easy and not really that costly. it will just be the parts sourcing that will take money

or i guess if the family that you have has the above stuff it will be the same as if you had it i guess

YES, i have accesses to all tools and equipment, and no i havnt done a conversion before but i got some family members that know what they are doing so im sure they will be helping me out if i get stuck, and yeah thats what i was thinking the PARTS will be eating my money away.
