it can be done cheap despire what peopla say
i did my CA18DE+t conversion for $1500 with most of the stuff not being stock and i bought everything seperately so it could have been done cheaper
and i probably already had $500 worth of stuff in the car that i used for the conversion, so $2000 all up for engine running in the car
my first r31 diff cost me $200 by the time it was bolted into my 1200
tailshaft was $80
front suspention and brakes would have been about $500, $700 by the time they were coilovers...thats with r32/33 brakes

mind you ive since spent about $2500 on a forged rebuild for the CA, $300 larger turbo, $400 for rebuilt r31 gearbox. and will spend plenty more on it when i actually start making more power from the engine

First step is find out what the engineer is going to cost (and what he is going to want you to do to it)!

Because if you don't engineer it you will not be able to afford the legal costs (and neither will your parents!) when you stack it into some poor punter on the street.

maybe i should of made it clear to use all, my 1200 ute has no rust whats so ever becuz the person i bought it off had a full respray, now if i wanted to put a sr20 engine in it, and thats including everything like the brakes, suspension, diff, gearbox to make it run smothly and good. how much would i be looking at, i just wanted some ruff estimate on how much it would cost, ohh and labour and everything is taken care of. yes money is a bit of a issue but if someone could give me a ruff guess on how much it would cost then i will know how much to save up for SIMPLE
