Most of you will know the car as "Hazel" ... I've owned her for a few months weeks now and plan on fixing all the small things ...

Im not very mechanically minded, so i bought a car that was 99% there ...

I have a HUGE list of things i want to do, just waiting on time and $...

So far the list looks like this.

* Sound Deadener - Dynamat
* Fix the seats - They have Hay in them at the moment, i want to put in some nicer foam
* Fix the dash thats been hacked at to put in a fake head unit
* Put in some Sound (head unit in glovebox etc)
* Replace the bulbs in dash with LED bulbs
* Window / Door Belts
* New Carpet
* Heater
* Badges
* Re-Wire ... Everything works, its just a mess
* Seat Belts
* Guard Mirrors

As you can tell they're all small things ... maybe when i know the car better then an A15, disc brakes, 5 speed and Dif ... But im not holding my breath ...

Last few days the seats, doors and carpet are out and the dynamat has gone in (well most of it) ...

Door Before

Open in new window

Door After
- Inside and out

Open in new window

Interior

Open in new window

Open in new window

I was a little skeptical about how good this stuff is, but when u compare the sound when you tap/hit the guard compared to the doors it chalk and cheese ...

Hey! Looking bloody good mate! I'm still shell-shocked from driving my noisey 1000! That looks really good. I'll definitely be doing this later on.

Thats mate ... Its taken some time, i've been really picky with getting it in every corner ... At the moment i've only done where the carpet covers ... In the coming months i want to get carpet to cover the entire foot well, so ill dynamat that soon too ...

I've used 2 boxes of 36m^2 and i've still got the boot to do ... Looks like ill get close to using 3 boxes :S

I'd say about 10kg per box (but im not very good ... each box has 9 sheets of 46cm x 81cm (3.3m^2) ... I paid $230 per box inc postage from ebay ... Audio shops usually sell it for around $400 a box ...

Gee that seems a bit weighty. I coated my floorpan with the brush on stuff, built it up to about 5mm-10mm thick. $50 a tub for 4 litres, i used it all up. I wonder if there is much difference in sound deadening quality? Haha if that makes sense

Many years ago when i was young and unwise (not much has changed and into Car Audio i remember reading an article on a product called G Spot that came in a paint on form ... From memory it was easier to apply, but the effectiveness wasnt anywhere near as good ... But that was many years ago, im sure a lot has changed...
