Hi my name is Tom ive been on this site for a few months now and thought it was time to do a project build and formaly introduce myself and my 1200.
I purchased my 1200 sedan around november 09. I bought it pretty much granny spec, with the only unoriginal thing being a horrible paint job.
I have a E Nardi 330mm steering wheel and also recently bought some 13x7.5
SSR Mk2's.
the paint is the next issue. It has 'orange peel' i think is the term and all the door rubbers were just painted over. Ive decided to paint it white as it was the original colour and ive got a thing for white cars. Ive started sanding it back and its taking so long as its hard to get motivated in this cold weather.

Anyone had their 1200 profesionaly resprayed? particulary sedans. how much did it cost and how intensive was it? I.e. bare metal, engine bay included/excluded removing all trim and interior or just taping up, rust repairs? Thanks for any responses

Wicked. Good to see more and more datto owners showing up in Adelaide!

Can't help with the paint costs but you may want to speak to Gylezy. His uncle Steve is a professional spray painter with access to spray booths etc and curing rooms etc. His work is really good and he doesn't mind Datto's. He's doing a small job for me at the moment and has painted Gylezy's (AKA Dan) ute and done some work on Shmity's CA 1200 coupe as well.

Must be mighty cold up there. Nice view you have too, I'd rather be out in the sticks than in the 'burbs.

Thanks i sent Gylezy a pm.
Photo was at my girlfriends hosue as its just around the corner from where i bought the car so i had to drive it there and fix the brakes and get it rego'd before i could drive it back to my place. She got pissed off when id go there and sit in it before i would go inside and see her. She sees the 1200 as the opposition.
