Very cool! I'd love something like this, the only thing putting me off is that they can't pull a car trailer!

So I got my block back from the shop all bored out and ready for the rebuild, 1 mm oversize. Pistons on rods, crank cleaned and polished, all plugs changed. Cam bearings installed and a full balance check. First thing done when it got home was to clean the block and put on a lick of paint.
I'll prob spend the next few arvo's tapping threads and measuring clearances. Do a dummy (that's me) assembly to make sure all looks good and nothing will bite me later on.

Some pic's of the block freshly painted.

After the dummy assemble I needed to get the pistons decked a bit, they were a smidge high, then another clean and the valve-to-piston clearence checked. It all looks good at this stage. Guess it is time to put it all together.
Some pic's of the H89 head. All work on the head was done by Ernie (bige) at A.T.E Race Engines.

Thought I would put up some of the cam specs and pic's. It's all dialed in and ready to go. Used lil offset dowels to get the dial in just right.

Cheers Casey. Yeah, i'm getting a bit excited about getting it on the road now. I was a bummed about having to take it of the road while building it. Would loved to have been doing up a motor on the side while driving the car. But oh wells

Since I am relativily new to re-building engines, Ernie has been a life saver Would recommend him any day mate.

Had a fun arvo with the engine today. Got the bottom end all torqued up, head on and the rockers in and gap set. Had some fun with the rockers as there was a lil bit of concern with how close the push rods got to the little block on the underside of the rockers (just hitting). Had to die grind the step off so there wasn't any chance of the rods hitting the rocker.

Some pic's of the mods as well as where this super slow build is at

lol, thanks for that armiee. Was very cool to see!

I haven't updated this for a bit, so I thought I would. I have the ute on the road! Build went very well and now has 1000 km's on it. I have extractors and a new 2" exhaust on it and all seems to be ok. It does sound very 'grumpy', which is exciting.

I have also just bought a set of fully rebuilt side draught webers for it. 40 DCOM's. I haven't got them on the car just yet but will most likely have them on in the next month, just need to get the manifold and open them out a bit

Now I want to rebuild a CA engine for fun, just need to find one. Oh, and work on the Ute body.

So, Ram Tubes, Socks, Pods, standard thin filters?
