Haha silly horse

Ziggy sounds the closest!

Im going to do some more jetting before doing a proper run ,its booked in for friday to see where I need to adjust the mixture ,its blows abit of black smoke when I free rev it which tells me too much fuel up high ,so once I find out for sure I can order the jets and see what she makes ! XD

thanks darren

yea i need to sort a catch can of some sort out ,when i give it 8000 it flicks a little oil out of the breather

but it sounds fken sweet when its doing it !!

ok so ive been doing some jetting ,and at the moment its running a little rich ,but im running

125 mains
170 main airs

and ive got these mains

125
135
137.5
140
155

and ive got these main airs

200
170
155

so yesterday i put my 200 main airs and 140 mains in my carbs and went for a drive ,i could feel it wasnt bogging/barking at all under load and was pulling harder too

so i put my 125 mains and 170 main airs back in to drive home from the shop

so today (its 2.30) ill go back down to the shop and put the ute on the dyno rollers and have a look what its doing with the o2 sensor

the reason why i put my old jets back in it is cos i know that it runs abit rich with them ,where as i dont know whats its doing with the 200/140 jets

anyways ,ill get my camera cranking and get a few videos up ASAP

BTW since i put the twins on it seems to scrub back tyres out realy quik

anyone know why it would be doing this ???

finished putting my electric fuel pump in yesterday after putting it on the dyno with an 02 sensor

turns out its just about right through the revs BUT at 7600 it started leaning out

but it seemed to be ok for a second or so at 7500-7600 then it started leaning out pretty quik ,so i got of the throttle

im pretty sure its the standard pump thats causing it ,as i dont think it can keep the fuel up to the twins

anyways ill put a pic up when i get a chance of the carter electric pump and the block off plate i made for the fuel pump hole

anyways i should be able to get it on the rollers again on monday to see if that fixed it or at least helped it

cheers

7600 is enough revs
After that your just making noise... not power
I restricted my race motor to 7600 for 2 yrs I ran it
Last meet of the season I pulled the stops out and told my codriver to "do your worst" and run whatever revs he wanted
He ran 6 laps flat out..rpm's in the 9500 range.. .then went back to 7600 redline and went faster for the last 4 laps
Over revving sounded faster... but it was nosing over and made less power so it actually went slower

Show us the printout boyo
Your motor makes less power but might perform differently

oh and i forgot to mention the damage i did to it on my way to work racing a commodore

i was taking off at the lights near work and thought ide see if it would keep up with a vt commo that was next to me ,he took off pretty quik, so i gave it 8 in 1st then flat changed seccond and got infront of him ,thats when i noticed him give it #OOPS# ,so i held the cunt flat and revved it out then pulled 3rd ,held it flat agin and after about 200 metres i had to back of cos there was a truck in my lane and a car in his lane ,i then noticed a rattling/rumbling noise coming from the motor ,which made me think ide done a bearing

turns out it rattled the flywheel bolts loose and sheared them all off bar one ,so i limped it to work and towed it back to the shop and pulled the motor out ,as i pulled the box off i gave the flywheel a shake and it moved abit ( a sigh of relief) then i took the clutch off and tryed loosening the bolts ,but they all just fell out

i then put the motor on the stand and ripped the sump of and checked all the bearings ,then retorqued the bottom end

next i crank pulley was ok.......

it wasnt ,totally fuked ,cracked and split it down the keyway and made a mess of the front main seal

its all fixed now after putting arp bolts in and then them coming loose i checked them and they were bottoming out in the crank before fully tightening up on teh flywheel ,so i carefully shaved them down on a bench grinder

all good now ,put stud lock on them so there not coming back out !

pics soon
