abit of an update

got a yellow sticker about 2 weeks ago and i was freakin out about how i was going to get it off ,went down to the pits with good tyres and no lowering blocks in the rear ,gave the motor and box a degrease then drive it around to be inspected

failed first time but that was expected ,only thing they picked up on was the reverse lights were on a switch on the dash because im running a 60a box ,and the parkers didnt work with the ky off ,i set this up so i wouldnt flatten my battery if i left them on ,so it was run off ignition

once the yellow was off i took it to woopass wednesday to see what times it would run

times were

ELAPSED TIME 16.887 sec
TERMINAL SPEED 84.11 mph 135.36kph
RACTION TIME 0.400
60' 2.958 sec
330' 7.470 sec
660' 11.078 sec
660' speed 110.69 kph
1000' 14.211 sec

run 2

ELAPSED TIME 16.545 sec
TERMINAL SPEED 84.34 mph 135.73 kph
REACTION TIME 0.692
60' 2.746
330' 7.151
660' 10.748
660' speed 109.73kph
1000' 13.878

run 3

ELAPSED TIME 16.271 sec
TERMINAL SPEED 84.38mph 135.73 kph
REACTION TIME 0.959
60' 2.634
330' 6.932
660' 10.489
660' speed 110.79 kph
1000' 11.607

im pretty happy with the results ,i got better over the night but the take off is makin it hard to get under 16 seconds ,just spins first and second cos the diffs open

im going back this cming wednesday for another try put the car will undergo some small changes before then

removing air filters for races (they flutter and cant flow enough air up high)
diff has been locked
will be running 235/55/r14 eagers on the rear or if they wont fit ill run my 175/70/r13s and only 20psi in them not 40 like last time haha
will also be running avgas and playing with the timing ,if i can organise electronic ignition before wdnesday ill run my good coil instead of pionts
replace pionts ,as they bonce in top so i cant go any faster!

also thinking about making a cool can for the fuel ,my uncle is running it on his torana with awesome results ! so i might give it a try

and have been looking into a 50hp shot of nitrous ,just to give it a kick up the ass and push it into the 14s hopefully hahaha

anyone got any other ideas

also a 5 speed would be nice ,4 just dont cut it !

cheers

If you get in the 15,s that's pretty decent for an a series.
I'd skip avgas for now, try the licked diff and fuel cooler. And tyre pressures. That should get you into 15,s your mph it's pretty good so suggests 15,s a definate to me

You'll get in the 15's Jess. What would that be for 0 - 100kph in seconds?

reaction time was good at the start of the night...for a first timer but got worse....less think more go! no nos dude no need, would be better with and sr or a ca if ya gonna do anything like that. if you go for big tyres and lock the diff, slow take off will save the gearbox and alxes...the last thing you want is to walk home from kwinana

Haha thanks fellas ,locked the diff and took my filters off

Went down for another go
First run I did 16.174 seconds

Second run I did a 15.9 with 40 in the rears but then after that run it went down hill ,points gave up so I bought a msd 6al2 kit today

Should fix it ! No more 5 dollar coil and points

Ide realy like a high 14 which isn't gonna be impossible with some tweaking and the right Tyres and stuff

Who's keen to come down next week?
