going to cost 800 for both sills to be fitted and bogged ,ready for paint
they said they can blend the sills ,and i can buy the left over from the patch then paint the bonnet with i ,might try doing the tail gate ,myself to save some money ,im getting better at bog work so i might aswell try it ,and ive got a decent sanding block thing now too
anyone keen to paint the tail gate and bonnet for me ? if i supply paint and a carton ?

this motor is starting to be a headfuk and a half
today i rang neil and found out the ga16 pistons are 1cc of dish smaller than smandard ,so i have gone no where ,and my head will need to be shaved again grrrr
this is what happens when you listen to drop kicks on pulsar forums ! they told me ga16de pistons were 7cc (perfect) not 11cc
could of gone standad pistons and get them milled then get the block shaved to have sero deck hieght
i just hope my rods havn't been honed yet
thinking of just putting standard pistons in it ,bored 60thou and be done with it

Lesson number one:
Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.
As if you'd listen to those peanuts on the interwebs! Can you measure you're own dish or ask the parts suppliers?
1cc is .25 of a compression ratio unit so you did gain something. Why don't you run a skinny gasket and install flat face valves instead of machining the head even further?

Thats an idea chris gasket and valves sounds good
I have a gx gasket for it so ill find out the compressed thickness of it first
Well thats the thing noone lists the cc of them and when I asked my parts supplyer if I could put water on new pistons ,they wernt too keen haha
Ill see if I can get some of those flash valves you were talking about
Who sells them ?

Yeah if I got my #OOPS# together I'd get the copper gaskets that I promised a bunch of people and you could use one of the 0.7mm ones which would crush even further once they were installed (annealed before hand). Crush thickness of a stock gasket is around 1.1mm from the ones I've measured.
You might want to talk to a supplier/mechanic about the valves, diesel engines tend to use the flat ones and I noticed the SR20 head here had some fairly flat faced ones that might be able to be used. I think what matters is the stem length, width and valve size across the face. You can cut new collet grooves in if the stems are too long.
I'd personally just find a catalog (www) or take a look at some diesel engines at the wreckers.
But yeah decking the head is the easy/efficient way but you can never get that volume back.

If you want I could paint your bonnet and tail gate for you as these will fit in the booth at work. But you would have to wait 8 weeks till Im on Holidays. Going to be a sweet little engine when its done.

Ok ive decided to put the ca in and still build the A15 on a stand ,just want something reliable that will go good
Ive got everything to do the convertion apart from a tail shaft to suit my diff
If I sit it in and it doesnt feel right or if I have to chop the shell up too much ill pull it out before I chop sh*t out
Im pulling the 12 out tomorrow ,so when I pull it out im gonna sit the ca in without a box and see how it feels ,if it doesnt seem right im not going to do it
Cheers
