Ill be happy to take on new memberships to this site
if they fill in all the details required dont come
from places where datsuns are not sold unless makes
a special request to sell datsun parts.
Any other suggestions?

The question should be, name a datsun model starting with B.
No Captcha automation will be coded to handle that.
Otherwise I'd like to see more members with the ability to lock accounts due to spam.

Yeah afew more moderators might help.

I have seen on other websights were you need to have photos uploaded, and write a paragraph about why you want to use it that also shows that you have read and understand forum rules in order to gain access.

There are some good signing up ideas here. I like the "name a datsun model starting with B". Although this wont stop the more desperate spammers eg. that farrakah guy who advertised NOS- he clearly put a little more effort into his scam.
On the other side of the coin, when I sign up for sites I don't often see myself being on there often or in some cases ever returning, my sign up is usually just to ask a question or two. Basically what i'm saying is, if you make it too hard, people wont bother, and I don't want that to happen. I came back because this site is so useful and diverse, and to keep it that way we don't want to make it too exclusive.

This is the best site around so exclusivity shouldn't be an issue :)
If you love datsun A series cars where else would you go?

Will say it again guys if people had to have legitimate email accounts to sign up e.g Optus Telstra Netspace TPG dodo ISP. Seems some people are confused between having an Internet Service Provider (ISP) and having email accounts if you have the internet on at home or business you automatically have the use of legitimate email accounts many ISP's allow multiple email addresses per account. So if you share a house and internet cost you can still have a personal email. These guys and bots use the likes of gmail and yahoo accounts and they have multiple accounts with multiple identities. Simple solution to a growing problem.

Legitimate email accounts include Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.

So how would you decide whom to ban? Our system now is ban those who spam, not those who look like spammers. Many of our long-time members look like spammers, making trivial and even potentially offensive posts.

But only the Branco brothers currently have the power to ban a user either temporarily or permanent. The moderators do not have that power.

Well yes but if they were only to use the account provided by a ISP such as those i have mentioned then they would be easier to trace as there harder to shield regarding I.P addresses. Thats my way of thinking though and I'm no guru more into building systems and hardware/software troubleshooting than the Networking/server side of things.

most car sites now have a moderator confirm their account details.
legit email accounts provided by isp r usually:
sharonbushpig@telstra, mikemyers@aol.com etc.
