well im officially over sanding!.. have the entire back of the car blocked back to 1500.. have the front end to do tomorrow.

Plenum is all finished, will be getting sent back to me next week, wiring looms were sent off today to Kev Rowley... hmm should have got joel to do that easy job.

also due to the dollar being strong atm, i have been in talks with some shops in the US, looks like ill be getting my engine internals sooner then expected!.. my bank balance will hate me but oh well. Also been talking to Yatala Headworx in QLD this week about building me a race head.... should be good

Looks good WARDY, the build is comin' on nice and quick too good work. Why jump straight to Yatala HW? Anyone in your area? I know they're good but I thought you could find someone closer?

thanks guys, haha zigzag.. i dont think i will be coming up to pick the head up somehow!

clyons8.. nah there is no where around here that does that sort of work, most of the engine shops are experienced in v8 engines (yuck) and prob have never seen a bare CA head lol.. ive been talking to yatala about it and they seem pretty cool.. and the price is pretty well the same as a sydney shop. For the little extra in freight i will probably send it there

That reminds me, Yatala Headworx have had my CA18DET for six monthssix months. I followed them up twice over the first month or two and they've not gotten back to me - and all they needed to do is pull it down and quote me on a rebuild.

I would have gotten the #OOPS#s and gone back to pick it up already but I've been busy and don't mind it sitting in their workshop rather than my garage as I don't have the room... but I'd better go back and get it before they "forget" it's my engine as it's got rods, forgies & cams in it...!

They obviously know their stuff, just make sure you get an idea from them on turnaround time... when I get my 120Y back I'll grab a trailer and go pick it up.

Actually the more I think about it the more annoyed I am.. I guess it's a case of out of sight out of mind, I kinda forgot about it.

ah righto , yeah fair enough. Cheers for the heads up mate. Its quite annoying waiting around for that kinda thing. Especially when they dont let you know how its going!

When im ready to send it up ill give them a buzz and see what the go is.. ill need it in around 2 weeks turnaround
