1970-1978 wiper switch: square 6-connector with blue wires

1979-up Wiper Switch: rectangular 6-connector

The newer Wiper Switch looks much like a headlight switch, but has one blue wire.

So here's the modification.
1. Connector for old 1200 harness at left.
2. Feed four of the wires straight thru:
* Low
* High
* Ground
* Washer
3. Cut the Park wire and send it to the Intermittent AMP box
4. On the new switch, feed the two different wires to the Intermittent AMP

The Yellow and Blue/Red wire go to the amp, then it sends the Park signal to the motor with either intermittent or regular operation. Pretty simple.

Good idea. I tested this today and it works well. It sounds like a T/S (indicators) 'clunk' when it cycles on and off.

You can wire the new switch like this (without the AMP) and it will work as stock. The first position will do nothing. But High and Low and OFF work as originally.

Here is the basic "adapter harness" modified for use with the intermittent AMP. The wire colors are up to you.

The modication from the basic Adapter Harness is:
* the Park wire is cut and both ends sent down to (to the AMP)
* the new Intermittent wire (the sixth wire) is added. It goes down to the AMP too

I mounted the AMP (black box) on the pedal box, with the same screw that fastens the Flasher. I chose to earth it right there (black wire).

The connectors from an old Datsun wiring harness that had been cut. So in my 1200, there was no cutting of the harness at all to fit the intermittent switch and AMP.

Thanks DD. Now I need to get off my fat lazy arse and find the switch and delay box I sourced about 7 years ago.
