Well here is an update...
Had a hell of a time at the creek, Chewed out the rear bush and seal of the gearbox during my OLT on friday.. keeping up with 2 supercharged 2.8l BMW's is fun! Passed the test, went back to SSS Automotive and swaped gearboxes (Engine out and back in) Turned up Saturday moring full of beans, end of the warm up lap in Qualifying started to come onto cams down the straight and .....BANG, Tailshaft must of been damaged friday, Tore 3/4's of the extension housing off the rear of the gearbox. Was thinking of how to fix it but officials called me up to say that I didnt complete the minimum of 3 laps of qualifying. Back home... Back to the drawing board...Get another tailsahft made with all brand new components, 2nd hand stuff to much of an unknown, Dosnt like 8500 revs and over 200kph ![]() Better prep next time. Sorry B310gx if that was you that came up, I was a bit dirty when I actually saw the damage

Better luck next time Chooie, It seems that the creek wasn't all that nice to the other Datsun competitors either. A few engine dramas I hear. I reckon it has to do with that long straight at sustained max revs.

I was at the creek on saturday.
Got too see the car and meet the man. Thanks for being so honest and open with me about the build. Shame i didn't see it running, I hope you get it back together and get out there soon. I did come away with motivation to get my coupe finished for next season. I stayed to watch the overs first race just before it started to ran and then left. Once again very nice car up close. Bryan

Was that you Benny that came up after the second "pop" then??
I apologise again... Ange, Felt great!! has so much mid range torque, the sway bar seems to be doing its job too. A few strangers were asking me why it sounds like a motor bike... I guess thats a good sign?? Thanks Mcgee and Sikyne. How is your Coupe going Sikyne??

I was planning on putting the top coat on the roof last weekend until it started raining, haven't been out since Winton back in July. Might try and make it to the december speed weekend in Bathurst, that's always good fun, then i'll be back into the sprints next year. I have to find a better job before I can come racing with you guys, but might try to get started in the next couple of years. Maybe when the A15 eventually dies I can follow your lead with the VE and we can stick it to those hondas

I'm hoping to get to Bathurst also, Mike keeps telling me about your mighty beast coming over the top of the mountain at full noise!!
Benny, Jeff certainly has had a bad run! Hopefully makes a return bigger and better. You can view topic.
