Don't worry about it. I got to walk around the car, but the back was in the air & nobody was close, so I decided to come back later. It then started to rain pretty heavily & I stayed down with the other guys in the car port & razzed the under 2 litre guys about their race being called off. It took a couple of hours for the rain to ease enough to even think about coming back for a look, & I thought you would have packed up & gone home by then. I'll catch up with you eventually. I was amazed that the guys in the orange Stanza had given up, if it was me I'd have been on the phone trying to find another engine I could borrow. At least I got the 13x6.5 Hotwires for the front of my Sunny coupe. I've also got to find out what Dave Loftus has in that car, winning the over 2 litre race in a Starlet is not normal. I know it's turbo'd, but what a hoot. Maybe somebody should get a late Nisan Micra, get a 1.8 litre motor out of a Tiida, or the 2 litre version from the Dualis, & see if it'll fit. Add a turbo & see what happens.

Would it be possible to get a late model Nissan Micra, fit the 1.8 litre motor from a Tiida & then turbocharged it? Your answer must include parts numbers for the conversion. You have 12 months. Commence.

I'm hoping to get to Bathurst also, Mike keeps telling me about your mighty beast coming over the top of the mountain at full noise!!
Benny, Jeff certainly has had a bad run! Hopefully makes a return bigger and better.

I was planning on putting the top coat on the roof last weekend until it started raining, haven't been out since Winton back in July. Might try and make it to the december speed weekend in Bathurst, that's always good fun, then i'll be back into the sprints next year. I have to find a better job before I can come racing with you guys, but might try to get started in the next couple of years. Maybe when the A15 eventually dies I can follow your lead with the VE and we can stick it to those hondas

Ange, Felt great!! has so much mid range torque, the sway bar seems to be doing its job too.
A few strangers were asking me why it sounds like a motor bike... I guess thats a good sign??
Thanks Mcgee and Sikyne. How is your Coupe going Sikyne??

I was at the creek on saturday. Got too see the car and meet the man. Thanks for being so honest and open with me about the build. Shame i didn't see it running, I hope you get it back together and get out there soon. I did come away with motivation to get my coupe finished for next season. I stayed to watch the overs first race just before it started to ran and then left.
Once again very nice car up close.
Bryan

Better luck next time Chooie, It seems that the creek wasn't all that nice to the other Datsun competitors either. A few engine dramas I hear. I reckon it has to do with that long straight at sustained max revs.
