You can use a regular size switch too.

the main problem on my 60A 5 spd is the placement of the switch - it interferes with the right side trans mount in the tunnel which means you have to cut up the mount to make it fit. I recall a picture of Ernie's yellow 1200 mount cut apart to make his fit. I'd do the hole in the tunnel if the mount wasn't in the road, I'll be using a micro switch off the shifter

what about a low-profile switch? That fits in the stock hole but doesn't stick out much?

No the problem is my tunnel vision
In reverse neutral 1 2 3 4 all is good but then when you go for 5th the selector rod cannot move backwards because someone put a switch in the way. I think I will keep my bright ideas quiet in the future

Is the problem now a physical space issue or a electrical logic problem? Is the switch you currently have, normally open cct or the normally closed cct. If the problem is now physical, are you able to turn up a threaded spacer [in alloy] to house the nose of the switch.

Thanks Levey
the 40mm hole in the tunnel is probably the way to go.
I have seen it done covered with a neat rubber grommet
