Take a closer look at the curves. There is a dip in both HP and torque at 5500. At 4500 rpm the torque is above 80 ft-Pounds.

148 hp and 90 ft.lb. torque is pretty typical of a stock Hayabusa 1300. Looking around the web I found other Dyno charts that extended the lower RPM recordings. I'm seeing the 2750 RPM range yield both 60+ hp and ft.lb. And it goes up from there. This does not take into account the modifications necessary to fit it into the car. But in a bike, it is a powerhouse from low RPM too.

Its pretty amazing considering F1 cars are using different valve technology
and although bikes are not revving to 20k rpm the latest BMW is pretty amazing.

Ok here is where Tom the anorak chimes in....................Look up RC148 or RC149 Honda, it's there 5 cylinder 125cc four stroke GP bike from circa 1966 these revved to 22K. I've alway found bike engines to be more innovative (a prejudiced view of course) Also form the 70's there was honda NR500 oval pistons 8 valves per revving to 25K. Granted F1 engines have heavy valve trains than little tiny dime size valves in 45 year Honda GP bikes do. (check out 5 cylinder honda on You Tube.......wicked engine note)

One other note Dave sort of brought up, gearing. Keep in mind that bikes usually have a final drive that equates to 2.6 to 1 and are running on 17-18 rear wheels. I don't know what top gear is in a Hayabusa but in a Datsun with 13 inch wheels the gear ratio is likely much lower than the bike by maybe as much as 50%. So 6000 RPM's in first could be as low as 15 mph etc. In our Yamaha powered Sports Racer running on 13 inch slicks 12K in 6th was something like 142 MPH...............a solid 40 mph less than the bike.

I used to own the motorcycle encyclopedia till the early 90s and the most memorable engines where one of the two you mentioned. The other was the twin cyl 4 stroke Honda RC116
and get your heads round this:

21,500rpm.... no big deal

but 16 bhp !!!! from 50ccc is simply mindblogging

love that on my 28 speed racing bicycle for the local shops :)
(cop: "why arent you wearing a helmet and clocked at 150kmh?")

so if you multiply it for fun from 1966, 45 years later
we could have 100cc with 32hp, 200cc with 64hp

Of course its not that easy or possible but for sake of following
this "idealistic" formula keep going

500cc with 192hp and

1000cc with 384hp :)) - say the revvs go down to BMW s1000RR of 14,000
then probably 280hp would be closer.

The key on bikes is 2 stroke 4 stroke. Current 2 Stroke GP bikes 125s are up to 50HP & the 250s before the class ended were up to 100HP.................so basically we're taking 400 per liter for a 2-stroke. Now for 50cc racing 2-stokes the Kreidler GP bikes back in the early 80's were up to 23 Horsepower and over 120 MPH.
I can't remember the outputs for current Moto GP bikes..............I want to say 250HP but I'm 2 stroke biased.

Wouldn't a 500 HP 2 stroke be fun in a 1200..................ah the smell of bean oil in the morning.........OK back on topic.

Tom, you are on topic :) I would love a 2 stroke with direct inj
and dry sump lubrication. A 1200cc 3 cylinder should do it.

An idea posted by Bezman on a similar thread in case it helps someone
when searching on ideas of possible bike engined datto projects...

Its a 4 speed k40 toyota box from my visual knowledge not a t40
with 1st and 2nd removed or locked out and maybe 3rd kept for a hillclimb gear??

4th is direct drive like on datto boxes? and although this box is usually
behind a low power 3k series it might be fine as the hayabusa or bike box will take
most of the abuse as it distributes the stress.

This should be right up your alley then D, made right here in Aus..

3 cyl, 1100CC two stroke..

Able to put together up to 4 cyl 2200CC..

although
SSKwiki beat me to it I'd think a Suzuki Gamma 500 or a H2 would fill the bill & that 3 cyl. is an offshoot of my Avatar - good ole triples...
