only for an a15 i think but sometimes you can get away with it...but an a14 you dont, as far as most of them need to know is that you have just had an engine change just dont tell em that you have increased the capacity

i would wait.

The CA conversion will probably take you 2 years if not more, that is if it ends up like most other builds i have seen!!

you could always drive the car as is and start building your motor in the garage, assemble all parts required then in 2 years start the change over...

if you need any ideas of cost or where to get bits for a CA conversion let me know as i am completing one myself.

thats a bit rich!!! When you say fix it up you mean rebuild with mods or just fix it standard?

On one hand, i have spent around 4k on my engine so far and about another 2k to go but it will be capable of around 300kw + if needed...

On the other hand, i just bought a ca motor for $200 last week, as a spare!! needs about $500 spent on it and she's good to go as a standard engine..

where abouts are you located??

if you need help sourcing engines or parts i can help you with that..

looks like you have got your work cut out for you!!!!

Setup wise, i would definatly recomend r31 running gear, rear LSD and discs as well as front struts and discs... this is sure to keep the engineers happy and give you some good stopping power.

For the gear box you have a few options.. i went with, again, the r31, 'stumpy' gear box as it means you dont have to modify the gear box tunnel and requires minor work to bolt onto the ca engine.

for things like brake boosters and hydraulic clutch setup i bought all that through www.maddat.com.au, and would highly recomend dealing with them, they also have fitting kits for the ca motor (they have heaps of bits and peices). they can also supply you with the above parts mentioned (running gear ect...), but it depends on your budget, i found it cheaper to source the parts and get them reconditioned privatly.

If you start playing with the engine make sure you dont waste money buying cheap manifolds on ebay and the like, save your cash and spend a bit more for a quality product, its worth it in the long run.

Wheels..... stick to smaller sizes like 15 or 16 inch, once you get bigger you are asking for trouble.
