um in vic engenieers certificates are only technically valid for 30days from date of issue, allowing you to get a roadworthy and then get the details changed with vic roads. as long as its on the cert, then you sort of covered but you can still get defected and sent for a roadworthy or even epa emmissions testing. so its not a 100% cover but it does mean that for what you did it was signed off as legit and makes it hard for vic roads not to allow it if its reinspected.

thats what was explained to me.

You're kidding right.

You're as thick as two short planks if you took or gave that advice.

I know in the ACT even if you have an engineers certificate, if they see something they suspect doesn't match the engineers cert they can make you get your car inspected.

actually they can really stuff you up and definitly defect you and even get a towie home, remember the cops are the the law if they say jump you say how high to avoid trouble,

remember cops dont really know what there looking at most of the time there just high school drop out hahahaha,
so they send you to a rta inspection station and if you can prove everything then you bring the report to whom it concerns and then charges are droped..

just dont be a tool and dont stand out in traffic ;)

I'm with matty. If you have a "you can't touch me" mentality when you get pulled over. The cop will put his finger in your bum and you wont be able to do a thing about.

My car is engineered and I have always carried laminated copies of the paperwork in the glovebox in case I am pulled over.
I think it will come down to the officer who pulls you over. If you behave like a tool they will probably send you for an inspection regardless of what paperwork you have on you.
