does anyone know what or have a picture of the clips/connectors that are correct for a side view mirror on a coupe? I assume all models are the same but not sure.

Also, would anyone have a nice original chrome side mirror they wouldn't mind parting with? I've got one that the mirror head is beautiful but the base is pitted, it'll work but I'd like one w/o pitting if possible.

Thanks, Evan

Which side?

LHS (our passenger, your driver) are like rocking horse poop over here.

Just take a look at the past few ebay auctions.. There is a set listed at the moment, watch the price climb!

Left side - drivers for us. Mine only has one (left side) as a stock mirror, are the pairs the fender style one?

Are they really that rare over there? I'd think they'd be all over the place - are ute mirrors different?

just looked at that auction, price doesn't seem that bad for 2 mirrors - anyone want to split the pair, I'll take the left one

Problem is that the price will get higher because it includes the LHS! Plenty of RHS ones around but LHS not so much as it was an option over here. Everyone wants the LHS!
They are the std door mirrors, the guard ones are usually spring loaded for safety.

Last pair on ebay went for over $200 and LHS alone for about $100! Have a look for completed auctions using "datsun 1200 mirror" in Aus, ouch!

thanks for the idea's Lowmion, they look pretty nice from the pic's you posted. I think I like the rectangular mirror better which is what was on my car. Maybe it wasn't even stock, I don't know.

I still haven't ever got used to the look of the fender mounted mirrors on both sides of the car, just looks wrong to me for some reason - probably cuz I'm on the wrong side of the world......or maybe you guys are instead

evan, they fasten with two big sheet metal screws. There is nothing, no nut, on the inside.

You can buy them brand new from Nissan, including the passenger side. But they are not chrome, they are dark gray. I have a brand new Nissan one on my car. But since someone overtightend the screws, one hole is worn out. I fitted a thin piece of aluminum inside the door skin to hold it.
