That link has the custom coil spring front end setup to reduce weight
by removing the front leaf spring. In NSW a boosted 940cc engine in
a race 1000 could do very well if setup up right and in the right hands.

An all alloy MA12 turbo with destroke MA10 crank would be nice.

I have no interest in 'racing' so much as having something that's fun to take to the odd sprint day/hillclimb/motorkhana. i'll never be good enough or rich enough to be competitive so i don't see the point in spending extra money to engineer compromises into a car!

i'm certainly interested in doing a bare-bones A-series Datsun 1000, or a bike-engined one, when I sell the 120Y later in the year.

bert, dattoman_1000, mopar (and one more member who's name I forget) are the 1000 racers that i know of.

Laidlaym also has a really interesting rally 1000 that runs the original A10 might want to do a search on his username.

the B-Pro 1000 coupe had a strut conversion done in it's past.. unfortunately, Endo had to sell it a while ago.. not sure if you guys are on stalkbook, but there is a B10 and a KB10 group, there is quite a few pics in there...

Theres no reason the stock a arm suspension should be removed for struts.
The coilover setup was to remove weight of the heavy front leaf springs
and to have more adjust-ability.

The a10 can be quite tough if you did a Topgear drawthrough snail and SU
and stay around 10/12psi with water injection

1K you know you want one (or 2 or more!)
Also who doesnt want the bubble wrap on the guards!!! :))
