But Mik, to get the sort of power I want, from an A15 I would have to spend alot more to match the power of a standard SR20 or something of the sort. I want something that makes a fair bit of power. Something that is scary to drive.

the rally coupe at jmacs has had a roll over, but maybe the other blue coupe he has there- if he wants to part with it.

the 1k with a15 and 5 speed seems the most logical and affordable choice- go to town on the rest of it.

I will be reading the CAMs manual before thinking too much more about the car itself. While it is great to imagine the modern combinations, I have to think about reliability and parts accessibility and what has already been developed. I'll let the book decide what I'll do. What I do have access to is a cheap 1K and a free 12a and 5 speed.

Don is the 1K a certainty? A superlight car that can
and has upset many others when well setup and driven.

Simons a12 turbo is so bare bones in the internals yet
is making some surprising numbers.

If you are going sports sedan youd have more flexibility
and could do with a qr20de behind the seats.

I found the volvo 360 where originally a DAF with leaf
sprung rear so it has an ingenious De Dion setup that
can be adapted with ease to any leaf sprung datto.

It could also be adapted using for IP using an all alloy
4wd lsd independent centre from the latest suvs out there.

cheapest motorsport by far would be autocross, and can build anything you like and race it

When I say budget I don't mean 2 or 3 grand, I mean more like all home built and well planned, not built with a cheque book.
