Has anyone ever fitted a Datsun 1000 bonnet stay system to a 1200? I love how the 1000 does it. Hmmm there is one thing a 1000 does better...

The one I saw (Datsun 1000) was a Canada model, it had a sliding bonnet stay -- not a simple prop rod like the JDM models. It looked like an MGB prop rod but, so maybe it wasn't a Datsun part. It was slick

This is how they do it on 1600 (Datsun model 510) -- Need a strut on each hinge since the hood flexes. The strut goes from the body down behind the strut tower to the hood hinge

Honda struts -- struts from Honda Civic 92-95 trunk lid or hatchback

Hey looks good, that is the only 1200 I've seen done up like that. How long is the strut or do you have the ovesco part #? Did you do both sides or does it work with just the one?

I can get a part number. I only put one side on but it really needs two or a stronger strut.
