I'm sorry but I really cant see the big deal about these bonnets apart from being rare...while not as severe they remind me of those horrible Magna bonnets that made the entire car look like Gonzo from the muppets.

The bonnet itself was an exercise in revising the styling of the B110 shaping. They first appearred mid 1973. They were not fitted as std to Australian delivered vehicles and the ones that are here [in OZ] were typically private imports. They were fitted as std in the JDM market however. We didn't received the bonnet either, only appeared on used JDM imports 1200s.

Yep, it is a Standard bonnet for the 1972 Japan-market minor facelift for 1972. The new bonnet was fitted to STD, DX, GL and GX trims -- to all of them.

Also the tail-lights were changed and grilles or badges modified at the same time.

As far as I can tell, the facelift was restricted to the JDM & possibly some restricted Asian markets.

Export vehicles remained essentially unchanged for the full production run.
